This may be an old question but here goes anyway.  What is the weight of a factory recoil spring?  Sorry if this has been ask before.

Yep, it sure doesn't feel very strong, but again it's a pretty heavy slide.  I don't think I'd trust the stock spring for +P loads, at least in a steady diet of them.

I recommend a 16 lb. Wolff Recoil Spring for general use.

I ordered a 16 lb. wolff and a full length rod from Jackash Custom Shop.  Thanks for the info.

My preference exactly.The 16# is ideal.
Word has it that ISMI gunsprings will have CZ model specific recoil springs in the spring of 2006.All made of the chrome silicon wire,heat treated and shot peened.I personally requested a 97B recoil spring be made.
ISMI already has the mag springs made of chrome silicon.
I will be a happy man.:hat

The springs are not listed on the web site yet.You have to call...new products I believe.
Ive aggravated Marc to death at ISMI about 1911 springs and can say he has the best customer service I have seen to date.
I just hope the ISMI CZ recoil springs are coming soon.
