in the 10 day CA torture period for a 97B

Hi all-- I've been lurking about on the CZ boards every since I shot my friend's P01 a few months ago.  I went into the store this past Sat to take a look at the 97B and bought it on the spot... Great balance, fit, finish-- love the grip frame-- I have large hands and it was a perfect match.

I think I might need a little collection of CZs in fact. Anyways, I pick it up next tues, looking forward to breaking it in.  Thanks for all the helpfull posts on this board.

yeah, I am really psyched -- I've read a lot of positive reviews...I am very curious to see how it compares to my k gold match once I get the trigger broken in.  I already ordered a 16Lb spring, flgr ss from jackash... I am planning on some new grips from omega -- thinking birdseye maple.  I am also pretty interested in dropping a SA trigger into it as well as some adjustable sights -- the sights seem to be the more difficult part to replace as there don't seem to be a lot of good options... I might run it over over to Kings and see what they can do for me.  I also need to dig out the dremel buffing wheel to slick up the feed ramp.... I have lots of plans for it, I guess thats good because they occupy my time while I am in waiting period hell.

Thanks a lot for the parts link.  The SA trigger there plus the bigger, better viz sights are exactly what I am looking for. Looks like that rear site is plain, rather than 3 dot which I personally prefer.

Funny thing about waiting periods. If they are a legal requirement, they make me nuts! In New York State, each handgun purchase must be approved by the county which issues the permit, and that turn-around time can vary a lot. Bugs the hell outta me.
However, I just bought a used rifle out of Texas, and it's got a "waiting period" too, that being the time necessary to foward the money and an FFL to the seller, then wait for the shipment to arrive at the dealers. That can easily take ten days, but, since it's not a legal thing, just a processing timeframe, it does not bother me much.
Hoping the rifle comes in tonight, deer season opens in 11 days!

I agree, Uncle Alvah.  The wait is still frustrating and tough to do, but I don't get upset with a simple transfer delay where everyone does their part promptly but it just takes time to move stuff.

I do get royally ticked with .gov required waiting periods.  Glad I live in TX!

Picked it up last night.  Great fit and finish. Looks like it was made in JMay/June 2004, side of slide is stamped 04 and
the proofing target is from June...Nice group on the proofing target... Can't wait to shoot it tomorrow night.

Regarding the whole plastic guide rod debate, the slide on the pistol would not cycle when I took delivery of it
until I stripped it and straightened out the guide rod...
It looked to me like under tension sitting in a box for a year
it had bent so far out of shape that it prevented it from cycling... that kinda disturbed me and I am glad I am replacing it with a SS flgr.
