Okay gents, here's the skinny:
    I measured my Para Ordnance P14 mags in relation to the 97B's, and found that their dimensions are the same in terms of height and depth, and the P14 is only 3/32" wider, yet, the P14 mag holds 14rds to the CZ's 10.  Another factor is that the P14 mag tapers more abruptly at the top than the CZ.
     I'm a bit disappointed- it seems that a very slight design alteration could have given us four more rounds!

Lots of other guns have the same problem.

Most .45s were built for the US market, and the double-stacks didn't really come into vogue until the gun ban was in full flower...

There's not much space left in the 97B mag; a different follower might give you an extra round.  3/32nds" is a lot of space when you consider how much lower is lets the mag column set low.  Springs are an issue, too -- as any spring that can accomdate that many rounds must be REALLY compressed when the mag is loaded.
