97B update questions
« on: August 08, 2005, 03:57:02 PM »
I recently bought a used 97B and have a few questoins about the newer models with the flush fitting mags.

What did they modify to get the mags to seat flush?

My Mec-gar mags will not feed FP or HP ammo, but will  feed when I push upward on the magazine. I have polished the feed ramp.

I am hoping they added more material to the mag catch and that I can replace the older design with a newer part, as I need to order a new barrel busing because mine is a loose when locked up and I think i  missing a few threads.

thanks

I believe CZ installed slightly thicker plastic bases to fill the gap on the more recent 97B magazines.

Yeah, they made the mag bases thicker.

I had to modify my mag catch in order to get the mags to sit higher in the gun (about 2mm) and therefore had to remove some material from the tops of the mag bases. Some replacement meg-gars I just bought work perfectly even though there is still just a little gap.
