I have heard some bad stories about this company and some good ones.
However, since I have been looking for a CAI built VZ2008 for a while and they seem to have dried out at Aim, Centerfire etc, I thought it might be worth taking the risk

I just ordered a VZ2008 from them
Any thing I need  to follow up on  with them ??
payment made by Credit card and had my FFL email them his FFL info

time to sit back and wait.....any thoughts ??

Good luck.  Supposedly I have 2 VZ2008 enroute to my FFL.  I hopefully will get them this week.

I bought my VZ2008 from Mark at http://www.summitgunbroker.com/VZ2008.html.  This from a recommendation from a post by LowEndBob.

Mark is a good seller and I will buy again from him.

The gun came Friday.  I took it apart Saturday and cleaned it.  I was impressed with the quality.  The fit and finish was very good.  Today I went to the range for a function test.  Shot 40 rounds with 20 in each mag.  No failures to feed or eject the rounds.  Shot very well just out of the box and I am not use to the irons.

One problem was the trigger, it seemed to hang-up a few times.  Sounded like the spring was binding up.  Maybe someone knows what's with the trigger.   Maybe a new trigger group for it after I become familiar with the gun.

Anyway, I like the gun a lot and it's a hoot to shoot.

What keeps you on the fence, this is the best deal going in the country for a well designed gun...

I was just in the same situation as you. I wanted a VZ2008 and they dried up everywhere.

I found Midwest Hunters Outlet through the google search. I read the good and the bad reviews and I decided to just go for it. I placed my order and sat and waited. Order placed 4/29 picked up from FFL 5/6. The rifle came and I guess I got a good one no dings or any other problems when I broke it down to clean it. I did receive 2 mags with the surplus leather mag pouch which was a nice bonus I wasn't expecting.

About 60 rounds though mine and no problems so far.

The complaint I do have is it feels like little communication is given to the customer. The "customer order status" thing they have to check your order status was annoying. Mine sat eternally in "Order Confirmed / Processing". I would check daily for an update and never got one through their order status. All of a sudden one day I just randomly got an email saying my gun had shipped and to wait for my FFL to call. That was the only email I ever got from them.

Thanks for the link Mustang....grabbed another one! ;D I was hooked on these at the 1st shot.  As an aside...on my 1st outing with a VZ I shot an honest 1 MOA group from the bench, granted it was a 3 shot group but I was stoked to see that, never got that with an AK..Thanks!

That's good to hear... finally an opinion from someone who has actually touched both Czechpoints and CAIs.  I've really only come across one sided opinions from each side, it's good to hear from someone who has experience with both, thanks.

123Mustang you'll have to let us know how you like the vz2008 compared with your others

Ya, I am not afraid to run the CAI VZ's...overall finish lags behind Czechpoint ( to be expected) but they run.  Its also nice to have muzzle attachment options with the CAI's.

On the fence because of my job situation, not because of the rifle  :D
Still hoping for good news to come my way and then I can reward myself with a new gift!

I just ordered one from midwesthuntersoutlet as well.  I thought I got away with not paying tax on it but I'm using Cabelas as my ffl and they're going to collect the near 10 percent tax I thought I avoided and charge 25 bucks for the paperwork, so an additional 63 bucks to bail it out of the Cabelas gun library.  So $440.00 in the end.  It'll take me about a week to get to the west coast from the east coast, loads permitting, and it should be waiting for me.
