Wow!  Glad you put a Bullet in him before he got any closer!  By chance do you carry a Handgun?  Not that you want to get that close, but surprises do happen as this one did.

Last time I went Hog Hunting, I carried a Colt .357 Magnum for backup to my .30-06 Interarms Mark X Mauser.  Fortunately, it was never needed.  These days I might opt for my .45 ACP Witness converted to .45 Super.

A ported large Caliber Revolver such as a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Casull might also suffice.  I have thought of adding one of those to my "collection".

You are most Welcome!  :)

I like the 4 inch barreled version too!  8)

Whichever barrel length you get, you can tailor your loads by the burning rate of the powder you choose to make the most of which barrel length you have.

Congratulations to your Wife on the kill !  8)

Is her AKM in 5.45x39mm or 7.62x39mm?  What kind of Ammo did she use?

Currently am using 123 grn Softpoints in the Russian Brown Bear brand for hunting in 7.62x39mm.

Thanks ,man :D
This is AK47 with 74 muzzle brake 7.62x39,I am using cheap wolf ammo 190$/1000,my wife and kids are shooting it all the  time
11-4 very nice morning, sunny about 56/60 , I was working on my track, so my wife went for a walk with her AK and our dog , I heard shots , jumped on ATV and about a 1/2 mile from the house I saw her and the dog jumping in the midle of the field. She saw this big boy about 200 yards by the oak tree , so she ran 100yards and crawl about 30-40 yards, wind was in her favor(dog behaved very good ,even we didn?t trained her for hunting)Hog start to move ,6 rounds ,I found three holes ,shoulder, neck and head, rounds went upand right 3-4? a part .Very proud of her. Going to make some sausage for ThanksGiving ;)
