These are incredible! I was wondering what folks were doing to remove the paint and park. A couple of years ago I refinished a Russian capture K98 and found it very enjoyable. I now find I'm catching a CZ pistol refinishing bug. Great works people.

Hi all.  Just joined the CZ82 owner's club today.  When I had the chance to shoot a friend's CZ a few weeks ago I knew this was the gun for me.  Loved it.  So now I have my own.  Enjoying reading some of the posts about refinishing.  Many years ago I successfully reblued some rifles and so that may be my course of action on mine.  The mechanics of my gun are in very good shape but as expected there is the common paint wear here and there.  No pitting or rough edges though and the original grips are in pretty good shape.

My friend had his repainted by a gunsmith and the job turned out quite nice but I still like the look of bluing.  So, we'll see.  Now to get some ammo and hit the range.

Thanks Dwight.  I was hooked by the time I had emptied several magazines from my friend's gun.  I was also quite pleased with my very respectible sized groups.  Compared to the groups I was able to get with his two other guns that day, well there was no comparison. 

I spent much of today reading up on various refinishing options.

'Before' pictures of mine.  I've seen so many good looking refinishing results here and am anxious to see what I can do with mine.  The paint is a little rough but the surface is fault free so a good refinishing will, I hope, create a thing of beauty.

Refinished with Cerakote Graphite Black and CZ75 3 dot sights. Has replacement factory grips on her now. I am happy with how it turned out.

Very nice!  Did you do the Ceracoat yourself?  If so, how much of a project was it?  I've been thinking of rust bluing mine but my mind is not closed to other options. 

Also, on the factory grips, since the CZ82 is no longer produced, are the factory ones for the 83?  I understand that they are very close or identical in some of the dimensions.
