tactical shooting. which cz to use.
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:10:47 AM »
I am looking at joining a club for tactical shooting.

I would like to know if my p-07 duty 9mm will be suitable for competition shooting.

I also own a 75b but I shoot more accurately with the p-07.

I believe that there are other CZ's more suitable but it is not easy to obtain licenses to own more than one handgun in my country.

Any comments on using the p-07 for this purpose ?

In 9mm, SP01 Shadow easily over comes any competition from a P07, have owned and used both, speak from experience.

however, if you are only doing it for fun and expertise, and do not wish to compete, I would advise to stick to p07. Would get more used to it. It is not bad by any standards, SP01 Shadow is just outright awesome!

You would do better, however, if you changed the rear sight to tactical model available here at czcustom:

Front fiber optic ( http://czcustom.com/czfiberopticfs10x575mm.aspx  )would be ideal, other options are just distant seconds. I found the factory sights not that suitable for practical shooting in my view.

Thanks very much for the advice coolbox.

I do want to do it for expertise and fun but you know how these things just snowballs and before you know it you want to compete !  ;)

For a start I will follow your advice go for the tactical rear sight.
