Congrats.  You know you have to post a range report. ;)

I'm glad Stuart thinks PCRs are awesome.  He's doing some work on mine right now.  Trigger/action, reliability work as well as a shorter reach trigger and front night sight.  I also have some aluminum thin grips waiting at home - can't wait to get it back!

When I opened the box for the first time this morning, the gun was nearly dripping with oil, so my dealer grabbed a pack of wiping cloths off the shelf and took a few minutes to wipe everything down. After I'd checked it out, I placed it back in the plastic case to focus on paperwork. When I picked it up a second time, it was covered in oil again. Turns out the foam in the case was saturated with lightweight oil - presumably a precaution for the long container ride over here from the Czech Republic. Did anyone else experience this with a new PCR?

I've only purchased three CZ pistols, but they were all very well oiled (as you describe) when the cases were first opened.  It takes a good cleaning to get rid of the packing oil.

From what I've heard, The last thing CZ does before bagging up their pistols is to submerge them in machine oil and cycle them many times. They then bag them without drying in order to prevent any corrosion during shipping and storage.

I wouldnt be surprised.  My PCR came with enough preservative oil that it made my  M-48 Mauser jealous

Purchased my PCR about a year ago. No excessive oil at all on mine.

Most new guns are very oily, if i were a gun mfg mine would be the same. Like the previous poster stated oil or not you can't go wrong with that gun. Always clean your new gun before you shoot it. Not just wipe it doen clean it, you will never be sad that you did.

Picked mine up yesterday. Gun was soaked in oil. The plastic "hinge" on the case is half ripped so I'm just going to throw the case away anyway. It's got that nasty oil all over the foam.

Well...I've had the PCR to the range a few times now and WOW! I am so pleased with this choice. This is an amazingly accurate pistol, and the build quality is first rate. I'm a Smith revolver guy but this new CZ has made me a believer. Just ordered an extra mag, the rubber mag bases (thanks, Larry) and a set of factory thin, half checkered coco bolo grips. I've already got my eye on the 97 BD to fill that large caliber void in my line-up.

They are scary accurate.  I put the .22LR kit on mine every once in awhile and have to go out to 25 yards to get meaningful results.  Any closer and it gets boring.
