That's strange.  It definitely isn't a night sight.

When was yours made?  Maybe they changed some things up.  One thing that struck me as odd when I first got my pistol was that it wasn't oil drenched in a bag; it looked like it could have been on display at a store.

hoot! mine is stamped 11 and it was in a gun shop new.i bought it last fall.the front sight on mine is solid steel with a recess dot like one of the dots on the rear sight.is your center dot hollow or just an indent like mine?all three dots had some lame glow paint in them that was a very light green almost off white and didn't work very good.

mkd,

Mine is '11 as well, with a solid steel front sight and a recess dot.  There's an unpainted area in the middle of my front sight that I attribute to sloppiness.  It has the same crappy light green glow paint that you describe.  They are terrible.

I really want to get better sights installed, but I'm not looking to drop a bunch of money right now.

Have you noticed a drastic improvement using those two together?

Did you install the fiber optic yourself?  If so, how hard was it?

i'm 61 so the fiber was a welcome sight for my bi focals. the sight installed easy! you need a 1/16"punch to knock the pin all the way out.then you want to pad the rear edge of the blade and tap it to the front.the stock front sights are  5.5 high. so that's what i got f/o. once i got the new sight i used a small file and shaved the angled edges so the sight fit almost  all the way in on it's own.i did not want to hit real hard or have it wedged so tight it would be tuff to remove.then i lubed the barrel and underside of the sight and  tapped it very lightly the last little bit to make sure it was all the way back in the slot. i drilled the new sight from the left side. then reinstalled the old pin.you need the right size bit and it's listed on cz custom!the sight is 1 .5 mm x 5.5  i did round the front and rear corners of the fiber optic sight to break the sharp edges for going into holster .it's steel based so i touched the blueing up myself. they do make the sight in a smaller 1.0 rod size too.                       http://czcustom.com/CZ_Front_Sight_Drill.aspxhttp://czcustom.com/CZ-Fiber-Optic-Front-Sight-5.5mm-with-1.5mm-FibreRod.aspx
