new or old?
« on: March 26, 2012, 12:07:18 PM »
Just joined the CZ forums, not to bore you, my first post is in the New member forum.   My question is now that I have decided on a 9mm (cz75b)  is new just as good as vintage?  I noticed in this forum a lot of talk about vintage and wasnt sure if it is for sentimental value or just a better pistol.  Thanks in advance for any opinions.

Welcome to the forum. I haven't fired a vintage 75, but people seem to like them. I am unsure if they use the same magagzines. In addition, it wouldn't surprise me if there is more you can do to customize a new one, as there seems to be a larger aftermarket of parts.

If you are talking vintage 75B, they havent changed hardly anything since the gun started production in 1991-92. If by vintage you mean a 75 Pre-B then they are significantly different. The sights, slide stop, mags exc are all vastly different. The pre-B can be modified to take B magazines, but as for the other parts you may be SOL. They are all absolutely great guns though. They are more accurate out of the box than many custom built guns, as well as being dead nuts reliable and built like a tank. Cant really go wrong if you find on at a good price, problem is the price keeps going up almost monthly.
