Why Is The CZ75 SA Slide Profile Different?
« on: April 09, 2012, 01:00:36 PM »
It makes finding holsters difficult.

Is there a reason behind the larger slide profile?

I haven?t noticed any difference in the B-SA Slide over any other
The Frame, YES?.Slide, NO
I may be (or probably am) wrong

As luck would have it, my SA is out getting a holster made for it so I can't take pics for comparison but when I tried to test the SA in some of my currently owned CZ75 holsters, the SA wouldn't fit or fit well due to the larger profile at the muzzle end of the slide.

It seems to me, the 75B and the B-SA have very much the same Slide design
The BD on the other hand, has a thinner Muzzle area profile on its Slide, but the Slide Rail don?t go all the way to the Muzzle either
I?ll take the full length Rails

Doesn't the 75 sa and the 75b in 40s&w have the same slide profile?

Yes, they do.  The standard 75B is contoured in the front of the slide from the end of the frame on.

My guess is that most people who purchase the SA are going to use it for a target gun.  The additional weight up front makes recoil even less.  Same reason for the .40...more weight equals more recoil control.  I personally prefer the look of the SA/.40 slide to the 75B.

That makes sense, just makes it somewhat harder to find something to carry it in.  :)

I am fairly new to the CZ line and honestly have no idea what matches up for holsters.

I have a Galco for my 75B that doesn't fit the SA well and my Fobus won't work at all.

I'm having a local guy make some kydex holsters for my SA and SP01.

Actually, I?m not sure about the Beretta 92 style Holster
I did have a USAF Holster for their M92 and it worked with my B-SA
But it was MilSpec, so who knows

Maynard,

What type of carry is the purpose of the holster?  Concealed Carry, Competition, Tactical, Trail Use?  If we have a better idea of your carrying requirements, we should be able to steer you in a better direction.

Classes both teaching and as a student.

I'll also be shooting some local matches.
