Not new to CZ forum, but new 97BD owner

I am proud to say I can officially be part of this group. Today I was the winning bidder on a NIB 97BD. Very excited to add to my newly started collection. So far, a 9mm SP01, and now a .46 97 BD. Can anyone describe the 97 kick as compared to the SP01 9mm?

More actual recoil, but less of a snap, and more of a "push." Very comfortable to shoot, and tremendously accurate. I have an SP01 as well! Welcome to the club.

the recoil from the 97 is more.  just wait until you try it and find out.  more  hype then anything.  if you dont like it then trade/sell it.

Put 20 rounds through my 97BD this weekend. I could not tell the difference between it and my SP01 9mm. It feels great in the hand, and actually 2 grams lighter (empty mag) than the SP01. Too bad is cost about $0.20 more per round to shoot the 97. I was more accurate first shooting this than my SP01. Guess I will have to start looking into hand loading sooner than later!

Welcome aboard!!  In my experience with the SP-01 and the 97, there is very little actual recoil with either one of these.  There is more muzzle blast than anything else.  Good ergonomics to spread the recoil impulse, low bore axis, and all steel construction makes these a shooters delight.

I just bought a C&R CZ 82! My CZ list just grows. It isn't getting any shorter! 

When I'm I going to get my 83? What about the Compact? And I haven't even looked at the SP-01. Now you're tempting me with 97!

schmeky - I have seen and read a lot of good things for CZ owners coming from you here on the forum. I have a feeiing you will be getting some of my $$ for that new race hammer once you get stock in house, and a few other things as well! I agree on the recoil, I expected the 97 to kick more, but it really does not kick at all. I felt more accurate with the 97 than my SP01, but I think my from the factory sights on MY SP01 are a bit off . POI w/ POA on bullseye is consistently right of the target. Can this stock sight on the SP01 be adjusted easily, and then reset the screw? Maybe that is covered in a different topic here somewhere, sorry to bother if it is!

@ cz75b4ft - I know what you mean! I got my SP01, and less than 2 weeks later had my 97BD in hand also! My list would grow faster, if my funds could keep up with my wishes. But now with ammo, range fees (and I shoot at home too, on a farm), and want/desire for tuning parts and labor, looks like I am on hold for any new additiions for a while. 

But, the top of my list now either a Kadet kit for my current SP01, or a SP01 Tactical in .40 S&W, or a 75B in .40 S&W, or an 85 Combat.......the want list goes on and on.

Good choices DJ. I have an SP01 Shadow and just recently the 97B. Both shoot very well but the trigger on my Shadow is much better.
I'll have to try and smooth it out or find someone who can.

Pic of first time shooting my new 97BD. 2 10 rounds clips, 1 slow fire (2-3 sec per shot), 1 fast fire (1 sec per shot) @ 10 yrds. Better than my first time shooting my SP01 9mm. Holes marked "F" were first clip, marked "S" are second clip. My first couple of shots were all over, but came together pretty quick. I tried the second clip more rapid fire, with so-so results. Not too bad for a first shoot with a new equipment?

My first shots with my new 75 B 9mm were all over the map. From pure excitement! It wasn't until the second 50 rounds that I started to settle down enough to get some groupings.

Got to put some more holes in paper with my 97BD this weekend. Getting better... I think. This target is 20 shots at 15 yrds. I raised my target height. Now closer to chest height, instead of knee height. First shot was way low, not even on target! Did manage to get them up, but still a bit sparadic in placement. My second clip, I installed my new DMP recoil reducer. The 2 in the bulls were after install, with all 10 in the square. Semi rapid fire on all shots.
