Grip for the CZ85
« on: May 15, 2012, 04:00:55 PM »
Could use a better grip on these guns but I am debating between CZ Rubber and Hogue Extreme Checkered Grips.

Which one are you using and why.

Thanks.

Its a matter of choice.  They both work good and the rubber is better then the supplied plastic on the CZ.

blonds, brunettes, or redheads.

take  your pick.

i have hogues, uncle mikes and maybe some pachmyrs on my czs including CZ rubbers.  its no dif to me, but i prefer the rubber to plastic/wood.  wood looks nice, but i like function over looks.

I have small hands and I love the CZ custom thin aluminum grips.

I have medium to small hands and the 85 grip felt a bit large to me. I went the VZ thin grips and that helped some. Some front and back strap stippling would be nice too.

I have the old snakeskin pattern CZ wood grips on my 85b and VZ grips on my PCR.  The snakeskin are beautiful but not very sticky.  The texture of the VZ grips is wonderful, but they are very flat, like most of the aluminum grips.  I have a set of the "arched" aluminum grips enroute from CZ Custom to try on the 85b.  Supposedly they feel more like 1911 grips, filling the palm a bit.  I'll report back after they have arrived.

I like the thin aluminum grips from cz custom. i have medium sized hands and I put those on my 75 shadow and it made a huge difference in how well i can shoot the pistol.
I just ordered a set of the short aluminum ones with a mag well for my 85 combat.
CZ 75 shadow target
CZ 85 combat- modified SAO
CZ P01
CZP07

I have VZ grips on all of my range and carry CZ's.  They are made out of G10 which a polymer similar (but much much stronger) than a ridged plastic...like a heavy duty fiberglass almost.  They are thin and light, provide an excellent grip surface, and are very durable.
