Hey Jim,
Unfortunately there is no (readily available) source for 2 9/16 ammo in any guage. I have searched for years and though some will tell you that Kent manufactures this ammo, I have had no luck in securing a source. The one time that I found some 2 9/16 ammo the cost made it very undesireable. I did find a reasonable source for 2 1/2" ammo but be aware that this will solve the chamber problem but you will have a single shot, as overall case length is not long enough to make the mechanical feed mechanism of the gun work properly. I have resigned myself to loading for all of my 241s, which is time consuming and still not a cheap proposition. The process has to start with brand new plastic hulls as they must be trimmed to length. The middle part of the loading process is typical, prime, dump powder, wad, shot charge, but then you must place a card top wad followed by a roll crimp (which requires a special tool) and is best done in a drill press. I have had very good results with this ammo but the process takes more time than cranking-out 2 3/4" ammo on a MEC press.
