The first outing for the new nickeled compact:

I am overwelmed at the beauty, fit, and finish.  Even down to the slide release being removable by hand instead of sledgehammer.  I really didn't like the trigger prior to first shooting her (she is a she you know).  But almost from the start the extra play (compared to the full size 75) in single action didn't bother me at all.  This is really amazing, I don't know if it's just me or not but within 100 rounds that gun was shooting as good as my target HP.  Maybe better.  I have never had a handgun settle in as quickly. I was shooting the latest run of S&B 115gr FMJ.  This stuff comes in the red and green box.  It seems dirtier than the yellow and green box. But of course the CZ ran all through without a hitch.  Win white box didn't seem to improve accuracy.  I may say with further shooting that the S&B was slightly more accurate.  The recoil seemed to me to be soft.  I know my hand moved as I shot the gun but it just seemed like the recoil was a lot less than any other 9mm I have ever shot.  If I could improve anything on this gun it may be the grips.  I just like the stickieness of rubber grips.  And for a carry weapon that is important to me.

I suppose if I read the instruction manual it will help with this question:  Are the factory mags 9 or 10 rounders?  It just won't fit more than 9.

Now I know many have said that the compact is prefered as the PCR.  Neither of the compacts are small by any description and the difference in weight is negligible to me.  All I can say is that this gun shoots incredible right out of the box.  And the nickel finish is beyond nice.  After some more rounds I'll post again.
Good shooting all.

Glad your enjoying the compact. The mag holds 10. Some people have a hard time getting all ten to go in at first. Are you using the loading tool or your fingers?

I've had no problems with any of the mags I have. Try loading the mag and keeping it loaded for a few days, it may help settle the spring.

The stock PCR grips might be something to try, or spring for some checkered ones from Hakan's.

Good luck,
Jeff C.

Two friends got a compact recently and both have the same problem with one of the mags.  The loading tool won't even begin to load the tenth round.  I talked to Mike and he will exchange without question.  CZUSA seems to be good people to deal with.

I think either the factory rubber panels are going on or the Pachmeyers.  Some people don't like the rubber grips for concealed draw but I carry in a PDA type case so that isn't a problem.  It would be nice to eventually get Hakan's new checkered grips just because I like wood on a nickeled gun.
