Original Equipment Wood Handgrips
« on: April 21, 2002, 08:16:39 PM »
To all,
Anyone know what kind of wood these are made from and how to care for them?  Will the finish be degraded by Hoppe's?
Thanks,

Hakan,
Yes, I have a CZ 75 Compact, made about 1993, bought new just a few months ago, it is an unused "old stock" pistol, with which I recieved all the original papers.
The wood is very fine grain, perhaps with a slight red-orange cast, lighter than mahogany, more red than teak...don't know what it is. The wood is unfinished on the interior (magazine) side. hope you can help me ID the type of wood.  I also build small wood sailboats, so I am interested in the various types of wood.
They are in excellent condition and I want to know how to keep them that way
Thanks,
