Got my compact

Finally after reading this board for many months I picked up my CZ75 Compact. Cannot wait to hit the range.  Will let you all know how it shoots. It feels so good in my hand.

Ususally the first thing noticed when you handle a 75 series is how well they fit your hand. It is also on of the main selling points. Enjoy your Compact and let us know how well it performs for you.

many times found even metal chips in new guns,they come from machine shops.lube it to.
i also do rifle type breakin clean after each mag for a while.

tried. if i could just get to the range early enough to
group it. it sure takes down the steel well.

Took it to the range yesterday and it was great. I only had the last round fail to feed completely on both magazines a few times. After 50 rounds or so no more failures.

Put the gun on a bench rest an boy is it accurate. Only practice will I get that accurate. Very nice gun and I am very happy.

Only question is this. Does the plastic recoil spring guide break very easy?

You must have a PCR.  The steel compact I have has a metal rod.  BTW, my compact is just now breaking in (500) rounds and man this thing shoots just as good as the 75B full size.  I also ran some +P+ Rem through it yesterday - no problem.

You may want to try a little trick that someone discussed in Rec.Guns.  This guy had problems with USA mags feeding in an AR15.  So besides some adjustments to the feed lips (not suggesting this to you) he used car polish on the inside of the mag body.  I did this to my compact factory ten rounders that seemed to stick around the fourth or fifth round.  Everything works fine now.  I used boat wax since it is hardier than car polish and I also waxed the springs.

My new compact also has the plastic recoil spring guide.  Also have found it to be a very sweet shooting handgun.  I've put about 120 of FMJ through it, no problems feeding so far of course we'll see what happens when I start shooting HP ammo.  The only trouble I had was loading the mags at first, stiff little springs in those things, slipped and cut the hell out of myself on one of the lips.  But I left them loaded for a couple of days and that helped that situation.
