DD: would you please care to make a comparison between the two? Size, weight, thickness, capacity, shoot ability, reliability, accuracy, etc.??????
Unfortunately I dont yet own a PCR and/or Glock, but I am working the ropes for the PCR.

No problem Carlos. :)

They are actually pretty close in size. The CZ is 1/10" thinner if you don't include the slide stop and safety. If you include all the levers on both, the CZ is slightly wider than the Glock but still less than 1/4" difference in width... excluding grips. The CZ grips are just over 1/4" thicker than the G19 at it's widest point.

The CZ measures 5.20" in height as opposed to the G19 at 5.00, both being measured from tip of rear sight to lowest point of mag. (ten rounder with plastic floor plate in 75) Again, less than 1/4" difference.

I ligned them up side by side with the barrell tips against a straight line for length comparison (see pic below). The longest point on the G19 is the bottom of the grip just below the lanyard hole. The 75's longest point with the barrell squared against a flat surface appears to be the grip tang at the top of the grip frame. The G19 appears to be just a tad longer using these points. Yet again, less than 1/4".

Pic for comparison...

Capacity is 13 rounds with a CZ high cap and 15 rounds with a Glock high cap. The CZ is noticeably heavier but I have no way of measuring the difference in ounces. Shootability is subjective and since I have put far more rounds through Glocks I feel more comfortable shooting the G19 at this point. Reliability has been absolute with both to this point, but again, I haven't put as many rounds through the 75 as I have the 19. As for accuracy, they are both more accurate than I am most days! :)

Hope this helps... :)

DD,
Cool little comparison..the pic comparing sizes was most interesting.  The glock may have the comp. beat by a ways
in the weight dept.  I am not sure how much.

I did the same kind of comparison at a gun store yesterday.
With my compact and a cz 100...they are pretty much the same size tip to tip.  I am looking at my 3rd cz...(rubbing
hands togethor...deviously!) tee hee hee
shoot well

It really surprised me how close they actually are in size. Before putting them side by side for comparison I would have bet a paycheck that the CZ would have been considerably longer than the Glock. I would have also bet that the CZ was much thinner than the Glock. I guess looks can be deceiving. :)

One thing that interested me was the fact that the Glocks sight radius was quite a bit longer.

Well, this is an eye opening for me too, I was ready to gamble my first born to the fact that the Glock was smaller an lighter, and the CZ chunkier, but I see they are neck to neck. Hmmmm. Interesting comparison; very objective and well documented.

I was also surprised by the fact that the Glock has a longer sight radius.
Now the real difference could be in the wallet department, I bet that there is a huge difference there

Thank you for tanking the time an effort DD.  Well done.

Carlos,

Being in law enforcement the Glock only cost me $399+ tax new in box with three mags. If I remember correctly the Compact was $389+ tax. Considering the fact that the Compact had a factory CZ Compact high cap in it when I bought it new, the CZ was still a much better deal! :)

If you don't allow for the value of the accidental high cap in the box with the new Compact there was only about $10 difference for me. For those not in LE though, there would be a more considerable difference between the two in price.

Is $409 a good price for the PCR?  The model on sale is a 9mm.

I couldn't grab one because I have my Baby Eagle .45 on order... and  only one pistol per month in Kalifornia.  I am just curious.

Also, in the above comparison, neither gun looks really compact.  Aren't they both pretty bulky?  I have shot the smallest baby Glocks and they are alot smaller.  Is a 19 a medium frame?

$409 here would be a good price, there, I'd say shop around. Yes, the 19 is the mid size of the Glocks, but I can conceal a full size Clone in summer weather with no problem here in AZ - large t-shirts are great.
The baby Glocks are neat, though. They just don't fit me worth beans. I'll stick with the Compact.

Well, they are compact frame, not "pocket" guns, I have shot the Glock 27 small (pocket) but in the "chunky' size,  you have to hold it with only two fingers, so medium to big hands cannot hold it steady enough.

Carlos,

I find the Glock 26/27/33 too bulky and heavy for pocket carry. They are almost too big for ankle carry in my opinion. They are awesome little pistols if they fit your hands though. I qualified higher with my back-up G27 than I did with my issued G22 last time we went to the range.

Where is it selling for $409? That is a great price for the Bay Area - I've been able to get a quote on a CZ 75 compact in nickel satin for $420, and the PCR generally goes for a little higher than the compact.

DD: Like you, I do find the G27 just too "beefy" for pocket carry, it is nice but I can't get a good hold and grip on it, I am afraid I will  not be able to control it well and get bitten by it.
