PCR holster
« on: November 25, 2001, 08:27:03 PM »
last week I recieved the DeSantis 002 speed scabbard that I had ordered.  I am very pleased with it and the way it carries my PCR.  My preferred modes of carry for a concealed handgun is an iwb holster and a pancake holster.  Having found a suitable iwb holster, I had been searching for a good leather pancake holster.  Thank you GunslingerP16 for posting info on this holster!

Catch me up here - I looked at the Desantis site, and they did not list this for a Compact/PCR. Was this special order? My wife liked that one, too, so now I am looking a one for the CZ, and a different one for the Baby Witness.

hi armoredman,
yes, it is correct that DeSantis does not list it for the PCR.  GunslingerP16 had offered info on this holster in regard to a post of mine some time ago.  I had been looking fruitlessly for a pancake for my PCR and he suggested this holster.  He had indicated that he had gone through many holsters until he found this one.  I called DeSantis and told them what gun I wanted it for and the lady said she would waive the restocking fee on a return it it didn't fit.  I have had it for a week now and will be keeping it.

It is a pretty darn good match and "looks good" in my opinion.  It has a tension screw that so far I have not tightened.  It is molded for a round trigger guard but when the gun is in the holster it looks good.  I used to have a SW3913(numerals 3913 is molded on the back of my holster) and it had a squared/serrated trigger guard as well?? It is a good fit.  If it loosens with wear I will use the tension screw.  The leather on the bottom of the holster protrudes just enough to cover and protect the muzzle.  The gun comes to a snug fit just about 3 or 4 millimeters from the loaded chamber indicator(didn't really measure, just guessing).

I hope this helps.  You may want to give them a ring or e-mail them.  I am pleased with mine.  JH

Thanks. I called Marty at CZ-USA, and he said DeSabtis was now going to make CZ leather of all kinds, and they made this agreement about three weeks ago. Like most companies, DeSantis hasn't updated the site yet.

E-mailed them in regards to my PCR, their response:

"The style 026 will not work.  We do not have any leather holsters made
specifically for your gun.

Thank you for choosing DeSantis Holster & Leather Goods."

Not very helpful.

Glad you like the holster JH!!!!!!!
I've been wearing mine almost every day for the last 6 months and I love it. It's also very comfortable to wear while driving if you shift it forward a little bit.
It actually looks like it was made for the PCR! So far, I only had to adjust the tension screw once (after the first week of use -- I guess due to the normal breaking-in period for leather).
