The lead free regulations pertain to hunting only
( excluding target practice - maybe except in the condor zone in southern cal, I'm not sure)
Law enforcement as such is exempt from lead free ammo restriction for duty carry however if a law enforcement officer were to engage in the act of big game hunting he would also have to follow the law and use expanding projectiles with lead content of less than 1%
The law is not quite in effect yet (except in condor zone) as details haven't been finalized by the fish&wildlife which does tend to serve its disgusting political agendas
There are also some twisty exceptions to the regulations based on affordability, availability as well as vague provisions for reimbursement of cost to those affected by it in certain areas as I recall
In short it's convoluted and illogical like the rest of it, continuing on the downhill slope of hate driven insanity
On a lighter note, we've stumbled upon a deer camp site of retired fish and game wardens last year deep in the woods (based on later gathered intelligence) and had an encounter with an on duty patrol in the vicinity, obviously actively keeping the "riff raff" at bay , they were very pleasant professional guys following procedures, helpful in explaining practical nuances of ever changing regulations. Checked our tags and chambers (guns in truck)
When asked about the lead free debacle they rolled their eyes...
..,and as your video showed the jacket completely separated from the core, a scoffed at 'no no' in some pedantic brand name only -bullet circles , not that the hog would care.
