Structural differences in the compact, D" and PCR?
« on: December 09, 2001, 06:45:18 PM »
I have a compact...black poly, 9mm...basic gun! I love it.
I study the pics of the D" model and PCR..they have a different slide setup.  Much like the 40 in the fullsize version.
The sliderails run the full length of the barrel on the D" and PCR.  I understand the PCR is Alum. framed..but the D" is steel, isnt it?  Why the differences?  My compact has the same 9mm 75 b/ High power narrowing nose.  Shoot well.

I've been asking Mike at CZ similar kinds of questions and here's a summary of what he told me:

   - the PCR and Compact both have full length recoil spring guides, the PCR's is polymer and the Compact's is steel

   - the slide/frame rail engagement is the same on the PCR and Compact

   - aside from the decocker and the alloy frame, and what is above, the PCR is basically the same as the compact

I agree with everything mike said...but if you look at the pcr
is has slide rails that run the full length of the barrel, all of the way to the muzzle..the compact doesnt.  The pcr has the same setup as the .40 75 full size.
I was wondering if the aluminum/alloy frame needs more/longer slide supports than the compact?  Just curious.
Shoot well

I thought I read that the PCR was wider than the standard model? Is it the same dimensions as the Compact?
