So I have had my magnificent 97B for just over 2 months now. Got the custom hammer/trigger job and had the FPB removed - it shoots like a dream! Such a simple, smooth, and sexy weapon.
Now, I know there is a feature on the 97 whereby the gun will fire even if the safety is engaged while the hammer is down (DA) - so you can carry hammer down and not have to worry about the safety when you draw and need to fire.
However, even in SA with the hammer cocked the safety is not preventing the trigger from dropping the hammer and firing my weapon. This does NOT seem intentional like the other feature. Coupled with the removed FPB that leaves me with zero mechanical safeties in effect.
Wondering if there is something I can check when I disassemble my 97 to confirm the issue and possibly fix it myself, or if I must take more advanced measures.
Thanks all!
