Good on him!  That is pretty much what someone breaking into my house would get, too - but not from a .22!

ME!  Using a rifle certainly aided his aim and terminal ballistics.  I think the caliber debate would better be served by pointing out the advantage of a long gun for HD.

I wonder why?  Does she feel bad for Jones for having to live with the thought of killing another human being? (I doubt it). As a Christian, I guess I feel bad that Maxwell put his life in a place where he was robbing 90 yr old people.  I feel bad that Maxwell forced Jones in a position to take mortal action.  I pray for the forgiveness of Maxwell's sins when he meets his maker,  but I don't feel bad about the timing or method by which that meeting was arranged.

A member on another board I frequent wants to give the gentleman his personal 1943 M1 Carbine...would be perfect.

He'd appreciate the gesture, but probably tell him to keep it as he is not short on guns.

This is a couple miles down the road from me.  The man in question is doing just fine, other than that we still haven't found the guys who stole the cattle off his farm.
