10 rounds seems to be the limit for pistol magazines, across brands.  Anybody know of higher capacity ones?

I have four .22 magazines, and view it as an opportunity to practice mag changes.

I have a better question. WHY DO ALL COMPANY'S ONLY MAKE 10 ROUNDERS??? With the space that the various company's have to work with, you would think of getting 15 or 20 round LR mags.

I think it has something to do with the shape of it not playing well with a double stack configuration.

With the Straight-line, Single Stack configuration, I have only seen a few 15 round SIG Mags being the max (After the SIGPower Mod)
I?ve always wondered if the SIGPower Mod would work on the Witness 22 Mags

Problem is, once you?ve stacked a few more in, they start to become more of a ?Banana? shape, and start to bind-up inside the Tube, because of the stacking of the Rim
The HiCap mods for the Kadet, I have seen, don?t seem very cost affective, IMO

Safety may also play some part in limiting the round count. These are after all rim fire devices. Stacking 20 or 30 of then in a magazine can cause a lot of pressure on the rims. Dropping a high cap mag full might just cause one or more of them to ignite.

I have seen no research on this. It is just a theory on my part. There has to be some reason that high cap mags are not available.

Hmm, you may be on to something there Den...As for the drum, that wouldn't put the vertical pressures on the rounds that a mag would. It just may be a safety thing. Does any manufacturer make more than a ten round mag for their 22LR handgun?

The Keltec PMR30 is a .22 Magnum, but shares the same issues as the .22 LR.  It has a 30 round double stack magazine.  When loading, you have to offset the rims on every round you load.  Also, since rimfire ammo is thinner than its centerfire counterpart, once you get past 20 or so rounds the cases will actually dent from the loading process.  When you slide one round on top of the other, the pressure of the rim on the case makes a slight indentation.  This causes subtle pressure changes that have been said to affect accuracy.

Smith made 12 round magazines for the 41/422 series of magazines before the 94 AWB.

Interesting stuff....Maybe the case of the 22 magnum is just a little thicker than the LR, allowing the larger capasity?

I have a GSG 5-22 and it has those banana clips with 18-ish round capacity. They feed just fine as long as you use quality ammo. Sure wish someone had the sense to make a magazine for the Kadet and other pistols that held more than 10.
