Decent price for a p-01
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:14:56 AM »
I've been searching the Internet for a p-01 recently, no cz's ANYWHERE locally, I've found them in the $520-$560 range online but I will have to add ffl, tax, & possibly shipping (or insurance) on top of this. I've read on some forums that people were purchasing this gun for under the $500 range. Have the prices increased that much in the last year, or am I just looking in the wrong places? Because of the price range & after shooting it I convinced myself i wamted the p-07, but after shooting a 75b again, I'm not so sure about the duty. I've heard the p-01 is supposed to be much more like a 75b the way it feels and shoots. If I can find a good deal on a p-01 I may just go that route instead (hell I just might do that anyway). Is what I've found is in the right ballpark or does anyone have any other suggestions as to where to look? Thanks a bunch. (sorry if that was a bit long winded)

Sometimes, my local shop doesn't keep all the cz's in the show case. But when I asked about
a PCR, he had 2 in the back room! Maybe its the same around you! I've used Davidson's gun
genie to find local shops that might carry cz's.
520-560 seems to be the price range around my part of town too!
Good luck in your search!!

They also have a P-07 9mm for $443 http://www.damascusgunshop.com/shop/pistols/cz-p-series/cz-p-07-duty-9mm.html

You might also want to check the classifieds here I think someone was selling one recently.

I bought one used last year and could not be happier.  If you don't want or care for the rail many think the PCR makes a better carry gun due to slimmer front end.

Thank you all for the replies. Much appreciated. I liked the duty but the build quality and feel on the 75 seems better to me. I feel that would translate well to the feeling of the p-01/pcr, am I right in this way of thinking? I hate to assume, but I would assume, for me anyway, the p-01 would be worth the extra $100. I also believe the p-01 has an exceptional reputation which would give me better piece of mind, & if it's as gorgeous in person as it is in the pics, I believe i would be very satisfied.

I have 2 PCR's and the newly acquired P01.  All are great.  Just depends on whether you want a light rail or not.

Also, I have checked locally & no cz's anywhere, none in the back or anything! Just a used 97b for $700.

Whoops, I meant to modify this^^ not quote.

Stuart, do you believe the prices will stay the same in the coming months? I'm looking to make my purchase 1st qtr. 2013.

Anyone shoot both (or own) & have a preference either way between the p-01 & p-07?

I paid $530.10 plus $5.99 shipping back in Feb from grabagun.com. They have 1 left of the 10rd version for $539.12 plus $5.99 shipping. so it's only gone up $9 there, although some online stores are selling at a premium due to the low supply and high demand CZ guns command.
Now back in March I bought a P-06 for $452.17 shipped but realized it was off CA roster so I let it go. Now that I can do a SSE conversion to acquire one I found one for $569, so over a $100 difference in that time period, and the election didn't help. ::)
