Trigger job for DA/SA but smallest SA trigger takeup/creep?
« on: December 07, 2012, 07:14:21 AM »
Hi all,

I've got a new 75B matte stainless coming and I already know that I'd like to have a trigger job on it.  I'm trying to find out what type of work I need to have done to keep the DA/SA with the tightest
SA-like trigger?

Anybody have anything like this?  Any info for DIY work would be valuable to me.

Thanks,

Scribe556

Best for that would be CZC trigger job with short reset mod, remove firing pin block.

Thank for the info.  Is this a CZC job only? Or is there an option to DIY this with purchased parts?

I'm a new CZ 75b owner myself.  When I checked into trigger options, I pretty much came away with the opinion it is a job that you can do yourself, BUT probably not something you would want to try unless you already had some gunsmithing experience under your belt.  The reason was that certain critical parts may need modification to get everything working correctly.  If you are dead set on having some trigger work, I'd send it to CZC or try a drop-in option first if you want to try something yourself (see below).

My recommendation for you is to first get some snap caps and click away, then put at least 500 rounds through the gun before you make any decision about a trigger job.  All I did was replace the stock mainspring with a 15 lb. spring and the above, and the trigger just keeps getting better.  At this point, I have pretty much decided that I'm happy with the stock trigger without doing anything else.

A drop-in option that should be worth considering would be a hammer kit from:  http://www.cajungunworks.com/index.html

you can do the trigger job yourself you are handy inside the gun. parts are available from CZC and Cajun.
the short reset is not yet DIY. part is still new and still fitting all by hand to check what the tolerances are from gun type/year to gun type/year

scribe555,

I may have your answer.  I will soon have the Cajun Gun Works (CGW) trigger short reset system (SRS) available.  This is designed only for CZ's with a firing pin block safety.  If you can remove the sear cage and disassemble, and remove the firing pin, you can install the SRS.

Will cut the reset 50%, from 6.0 - 6.5mm's down to 3.0mm's.  It is designed for the do-it-your-selfer.

What kind of time frame are you talking about?  BTW, make a lot!!  I foresee you'll have a huge amount of sale orders to fulfill!
