« on: March 08, 2013, 09:00:17 PM »
i have the chance to trade some house sitting for a cz 40 b that has less then 100 shots through it and its in such good condition its disgusting...

i wanted a p-01 but ill take what i can get!

will a kadet kit fit on this ? i think its a silly question being the kadet kit fits on all the 75 models.

thanks for the info all!!!

is there anyone out there with input as to what modifications it requires to make a kadet kit fit a cz40?

and for this matter, the price of house/dog sitting for a gun with under 75 rounds through it, could i get any better deal?

from my research, i guess they go for around $400?

Part 2:

decided to complete the cz40b kadet kit answer here as it was originally started here. (by the way,, cz40B's are awesome!)

so:  after much looking/examining the kadet kit on my cz40b.. i finally found what was keeping it from originally sliding back far enought to cock the hammer... no longer an issue..   i was actually getting ready to go shoot the kadet kit on the 40B when i discovered the real reason the kadet kit won't function as is on the 40B.

with a magazine in place you cannot retract the slide far enough to grab the next round.

i don't have my camera and not quite sure how to 'explain' but will do my best..  actually it the kadet kit could work IF  someone basically cut down the spring guide rail apx. .250" off the back side thereby allowing the slide itself to retract fully and allow it to pick up a round from the magazine. or perhaps even cutting the spring guide off completely and fitting a new smaller dia. guide in the larger main upper slide dia. to contain the spring.

seeing how i don't have the extra parts or a second kadet kit.. i will not be trying it.  but it sure appears it could work if someone really wanted to put one on a cz40B.

so there you have it.   if I had an extra kadet kit,, i'd try it and have a dedicated kit to go with my cz40b.    sure looks cool, feels awesome.

let us know if someone tries it!

A wire cutting discharge machine would be my preference. That way I could cut the whole guide spring an mount flush an parallel and could easily be silver soldered back in place if needed. Wire cut machine have it off in about 15 minutes of time, shucks it'd take longer to set up.

Anyone have a cadet kit I can use?
Cheers

Ps.  This kindle pad won't let me type some words correctly the way I want. Because of the auto word check system. Hence "cadet".
