HELP! -- CZ-52 Grips!
« on: January 02, 2004, 11:44:20 PM »
OK, I admit it I love my CZ-52 . . . But I absolutely hate the grips!  They just seem to skinny for my tastes.  Ditto for the walnut ones from Makarov.com (though they are a little better).  On the flip side, my Taurus PT92 seems like a natural extension of my hand.  Note that the Taurus uses "double stack mags" and is little wider.

HELP!  Are there any aftermarket CZ-52 grips that will make it feel more like my Taurus?

I am in the process of making A bunch of 1911A1, Desert Eagle and CZ-52 grips. The ones under way are being made of oak but I am looking for some cherry wood and will do some in cherry as soon as I find it.
The CZ-52 grips will probibly run for around 40.00-50.00 although I won't know for sure untill the first set is done. I'll post pictures of them when I am finished. They'll have special handleing features ( has alwayse been standerd in grips I make ), much more handleing features then found on any Hogue grips which will make them look much more commonley attractive then what I have seen for CZ-52s so far. I'll also have right and left handed makes.
Otherwise, you can get A standerd pair from this guy:

geospacesr@hotmail.com

I haven't used his grips nore seen them in person but people i've talked with on other forums seame to really like them. They appear to be roughley the same design as what the CZ-52 normally has, just cleaner, prettier and in different collors.

Canon,

Do you have a web site, or did you mean you'll post them here?

I do not have any pictures of any of my handgun grips yet. I do have pictures of one of my rifle stocks though:

The grips will have some similearities to the grip on that rifle stock. Like I said, I should have some online by monday morning.

The grips below are grips I made for A 1911A1.
The CZ-52 Grips that I am working on are the exact same as these, just made for the CZ-52.

Nice grips.  I'd like to try out a pair, can I return them if they don't fit my hand?  Go ahead and email me with the price, etc.

Yes. If they do not fit or fail to satistfy you within 15 days, you can return them for A refund of the purchase price provided their is no clear user abuse to the grips. I will not have the price until the first are finished but it'll most likley be somewear in the ball park of 40.00 which I belive beates the price of all the other wooden grips. I also charge A flat fee of 10.00 ( no matter what model handgun ) to fit the grip to the shooters hand but A basic handprint and picture of the shooters hands is required which must be sent in. Otherwise, they'll be made to fit average hands. Do keep in mind though that some hands are to small for certain handguns and I will not be able to fit it perfictley in that case. Same with overley large hands.
I will also start making left handed configurations when I get A chance.
The pair that will be shown in the picture I will take and put online will be the first to ship out.

Another option (but not nearly as pretty as nice new grips) is to put a Hogue Handall over the existing grips.  This fills out the grips, gives a better gripping surface and more cushioning, and adds finger grooves to the frontstrap.  They're cheap, too - usually under $10.  I like mine pretty well.

The main problem with them is it's a lot harder to get the grips on and off, and mine started splitting after I had removed them a half-dozen times.  They still work, but that split's going to spread eventually.

What you say about the Hogue Handall is all very true.  Except it's ugly as sin on the gun ;)

I just finished A pair of custom Oak grips and it's drying right now. I am expecting to have 2 more done and ready to go by monday. Their right handed grips, made for average male hands with custom fitting for maximun performance. Their also set for the extended slide release so if you get one, you shouldn't have to wory about triming the grip. The overall design is different from normal CZ-52 grips as to how the grip interacts with moving parts, actually making it smoother and easier.
I will get A picture taken of them on my CZ-52 Tomarow if they finish drying overnight.
Price will be $45.00.
E-Mail: jared@barringtons.com
The pair in the upcoming photo will be the first to ship out unless the buyer asks for something else in particulear.

For the grips try 44cannon's: pub105.ezboard.com/fczechpistols82792frm59.showMessage?topicID=190.topic

I haven't purchased a set yet. But they seem like what I'm looking for.
