NEW cz97b
« on: May 06, 2013, 01:12:06 AM »
Had mine for a little over a week now and have been able to take it out to range twice. Got almost 250 rds thru it so far, and no malfuntions at all. It even shoots Federal Hydroshock hollowpoints  without any jamming or feed issues what so ever. The trigger is a bit rough, but I know it will take few hundred more rounds to smooth out , so not an issue. If I decide to do a trigger job later, I might just go ahead and have  it converted to SA only at that point. Pistol shoots great, accuracy excellent.....very fun gun!

You're not going to get an argument here :) If you are comfortable with the weight and the grip frame size, it's the cat's meow.
I have two, one of which is now wearing CGW trigger assembly parts and I'll tell you what....with the addition of David's well-engineered parts it will become even more of a dream to shoot. Digest all the info on this forum that you can and dig in. IMO, it's the best bang for the buck out there in .45 ACP!

I picked up my first 97B today.
I wasn't looking for one but the (Boise area) LGS pulled one out.

The fiber optic front sight, the aluminum grips and the reputation made it too good to pass up.
I can't wait to shoot it!

I was already despicable, long before it was cool!

I just purchased my first CZ, a NIB 97-B at one my LGS.  I already a cloned....a used Baby Desert Eagle II .45 ACP, which shoots like a dream.  Now, just need to purchase a couple hundred rounds of ammo and then hit the range....can't wait!

Does anyone own both versions of the 97 and have opinion on one versus the other?.....I have sorta kinda wanted the 97 B , but now wouldn't be sure which to be the better purchase.

I'm sorry, that would be the old 97 versus the new97 with the Fiber Optic  front sight and aluminum grips.

Scooter, as long as the "old" 97 you might pick up has the new feed ramps, there really won't be any difference.  You can and probably will add the sights and grips you want as you make it how you like it.  It's a great platform especially once you get it tuned.  My BE is incredible.

I also bought a "new" CZ 97b last week. Ordered it online without having touched it before :) The surprise came when I opened the box. While it was new as in 'me being the first owner', it had CIP markings of 1999! Also old bushing and no fcs.
Still not having buyers remorse as the gun seems to be in perfect shape and it was cheaper than usual. Absolutely love the look&feel. Fits my hand like a glove.
Unfortunately didn't have time to go to the range yet though, so hope it also works. You guys think i should check something specific on this 14 year old new 97?

See how it feeds hollowpoints.  If you are not happy with that aspect of it (mine has the new feedramp and feeds hps fine but i almost always just shoot ball), you can always buy a new profile barrel.

The more I hear and read positive feedback about the 97b the more excited Iam to get hold of one for myself.

A 97B or BD is at the top of my must have list. I'm glad somebody is finding them, because I sure can't.
Reading about them and looking for one is just part of the thrill!
