Very Very Nice!!!  8) 8) 8)

I would like one, but with the 12 inch barrels they used on the Vz58 Pistols, some time ago.
Wondering if they will make any more of those Vz58 Pistols?  ???

Definitely cool to see. The Czechpoint website says they expect the pistols in late Summer 2013. I'd imagine that the pistols and these SBRs will come in around the same time.

I'm also much more interested in the carbine version (about 12in. barrel) as opposed to the super short compact model. Whether getting the pistol and sbr-ing it later. Or getting on the the carbines to begin with.

I'm glad to see these hitting the States.

Thanks for posting. Very interesting. My concern though is the 7.5'' barrel. you lose a lot of velocity and muzzle energy with the 7.62x39 with a barrel that short. I recently got a Zastava PAP M92PV  (Yugo AK pistol) It has a 10'' barrel and only loses 400 fps compared to a full sized 16'' barreled 7.62x39 rifle.
Something to consider perhaps.

Roger this is one of the reasons I'm planning on the 12" version.

I have been coveting one of these for awhile.  The Canadians have had them for awhile and they seem like a blast based on the youtube videos.  Yeah, sure it'll lose alot of muzzle velocity, but this is an inside-100m gun, and .30 caliber isn't so velocity dependent as, say, 5.56.

One thing that would make it better: suppressor!

I agree. Think I'm good though with my Vz.58 and variety of AKs. And a gas piston AR chambered in 5.45x39

I'm guessing these require a tax stamp?  Definitely something that would be different enough from my AK to justify a new toy gun....

Better submit your tax stamp ASAP. Current ATF backlog is 6.5 months and growing.
Czechpoint won't even sell you a rifle unless you provide proof of tax stamp? I presume this is correct?

I assume that's right.  They aren't going to want to deal with selling a gun to someone who can't collect it from his FFL.

I dont think you can get a tax stamp for a gun that isn't in the hands of the distributor yet.  I am surprised that they don't just sell these as pistols and let the end user form 1 it, wait 6 months, get the stamp back and knock the spot weld off holding a stock set screw in place, then order folding stock.

Honestly I don't know how it would all work. I don't know if Czechpoint would or wouldn't care either way. It's not really their concern once it leaves them.

If you're going the SBR route, this might be simpler for some people.

Czechpoint did the same thing when they were selling vz. 61 sbrs.

now that looks straight out cool, looks way better thant the 12" version.  just wondering why worry about loosing velocity?  what do you plan on using it for?

Well. An sbr in either length would be a fun "toy'' range gun.

They both could be good house or vehicle guns as well. I don't know, besides looks, if the super short barrel would have much of detriment on velocity to affect bullet performance. 7.62x39 isn't nearly as dependent of velocity to do it's job like the 5.56x45 round.

Either length would be cool to me. But personally I like the look of the 12 inch model better. The 7 inch one looks a little to "stubby" or "stunted" to me.

And the 12 inch one would be plenty short for "serious house work". :)

Comparing the 12 inch one to a standard M4, the 58 carbine (not the compact 7.5) would be nearly the same length as a retracted stocked M4. Obviously smaller compared to any M4 with the stock extended to any length.
