I had emailed Jay several weeks ago and the other day he emailed back. I had asked him if they were ever going to make those makarov rounds anymore for my cz 82 reloads. He said not anytime soon if at all. But to my surprise he said he had a few boxes on his shelf gathering dust.
He sent me 4 boxes of 250 each for a total of a 1000 bullets for $100.00 shipping included !! Know that is customer service big time !! I always like dealing with the owner, you never know what deals can be made! :)

Jay is their sales rep.  The company was started by Gilbert Berry back in the 1960's in an old chicken coop.  He had a bunch of guys casting bullets in 10 cavity molds in the Ontario area of Southern Calif.  I worked for the phone company in the 60's and would see his gray van around my area.  The words "Berry's Bullets" was hand stenciled on the side, and the back bumper was usually almost dragging the ground as he hit all the gun shops in the area.

Gil is still involved with his company, but the day to day operations are run by his son.  I've talked to Gil several times about the early days and we've had some good laughs over it.  He sold bullets to my department before I hired on in 1971, and by the time I was rangemaster, we bought all our practice bullets from Ron Gromak, since Ron had worked out a way to fill the plastic bullet tubes to feed our Ammoload machine without hand filling them.

By the way, this is the second time Jay has worked for Berry's.  He also worked for Dillon for a number of years and after he left Berry's the first time, he ran his own business, which can be a chore, as anyone who has done it knows.  He came back to Berry's a number of years ago and the timing was just right, since they were expanding their operations at that time.

Hope this helps.

Fred
