Chances of selling a 9mm frame?
« on: September 01, 2013, 11:38:11 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm a fairly new P07 .40 owner.  I like this gun so much in SA that I have it at a local gunsmith getting a little trigger work done.  I would love to have a 9mm conversion top end, which sell for $250 on the website.  If I could find a used P07 9mm somewhere at a decent price, what would be my chances of selling the frame for around $125 or $150 to offset some of the cost?

I guess you can...but how would that math work out.  Let's assume a used P07 is $350 to $400.  You would buy it and have take the top.  Sell the frame for $150.  I buy that and then buy a new top for $250...and end up on the high side of a used pistol?  Not seeing the upside from a possible buyer...

And you'd still have to sell the frame via an FFL as it's the serial bearing part of the gun.
