Imperfections in polycoat of brand new CZ75 Sp01.
« on: September 17, 2013, 11:05:08 PM »
Don't know where to post this:

I live in California, where CZ75s are already hard to find.  I was ecstatic when I was able to get a hold of one however the day I took it home I noticed this.

The shop I bought it from was dark and I was not able to thoroughly inspect the finish.  I am somewhat devastated after waiting so long for this pistol for it to come with this single but horrible imperfection.  If I were to return this pistol the store would charge me a 30% restocking fee since its the only one they carry.  Do you think I should send it in the CZ for repair?  How is their warranty service in regard to cosmetic imperfections?

Thank you,

Tom

Call them and then send the pic. Only way to know.

Did they tell you that AFTER you you showed them the "DEFECT".?

I would contact CZ-USA, include the pic and see what they say.

I have one of those "boogers" on the side of my slide of my P-01.  I bought it used and am not worried enough about it to do anything.  I figure in 5-15 years of carrying it will need refinished and I can address it at that time.

P-01 + 40B slide = 40P

Thank you everyone, I hope I can get this sorted out.  I don't really want to return the gun I just want it repaired and in a timely matter.

CZ will refinish it but you'll probably end up paying the shipping and having to be without it a few days.  I'd still do it though, as that sort of imperfection would bug me to no end.

If it's under warranty, I would suspect CZ-USA will send you a shipping label to send it in.  If you need the exact gun back (due to serial number), make sure you talk to them about it, because they may just turn around and send you a new one because it is faster.
Hopefully shouldn't cost you anything, if it is the same gun coming back, CZ-USA can send it to you directly.

I just need an SP01 I don't need the exact gun back, IDK how this will work seeing that I already did the DROs on this gun.  Unless if it means I will have to pay for another SSE/DROS which I can't anyways because California's 30 day handgun limit.  Do you think its possible for CZ to stamp a new slide with the same serial that is already on my lower reciever?

Just talked to Aaron at CZ and sent him the pictures of the bump and receipt.  Hopefully he can help me out.

My new sp01 came with a very small scratch under the safety. It's not nearly as bad as yours, though. Still annoys me, but not enough to make me send it in. I may ask them about it again later though.
