Adjusting takeup on P07 triggers
« on: September 23, 2013, 11:05:10 PM »
Sir,

I have a P07 in .40 that I shoot in single action exclusively.  I love the gun and like the SA trigger, except for the excessive uptake before any resistance is encountered.  A local gunsmith took a look at it and said there is no way to reduce the uptake due to the reset point of the trigger being so far forward.  I agree with him that the DA reset is very far forward; however the trigger resets much farther back when shooting single action (which I always do).  Is it possible to take the slack out of this trigger without messing up the reset?  If so, how much would that run?

Thanks in advance.

A trigger with an adjustable reset screw might decrease some of the  "un-necessary" slack.
Looking at the pics of the PO7 (I don't have one), there is a flat ledge that contacts the frame on the top front of the trigger if it's like the 75 models.  As a test, you temporarily add/rubber cement a shim there to test the results of moving the trigger back a skosh.
