Not So Good Canik/Tristar News
« on: October 02, 2013, 09:50:26 PM »
I contacted Tristar this week to order parts to develop some new Canik products.  No dice.  They only sell replacement parts if you reference a serial number.

Bummer.  This killed some new stuff for Caniks.

If they won't sell replacement parts and make them readily available, that reputation will hurt them in the long run. Heck, you may have better luck just getting on Canik's direct webpage and try to send them a message and request to see if they will sell you parts and ship them over from Turkey. Since Century Arms imports some models, maybe you could have better luck with them? I am very happy with my Canik and all the parts in it that I got from you has really transformed that thing--I was hoping some more stuff would eventually become available. If you want me to try to get some replacement parts for my Canik and then send them to you for project development, PM me and maybe we can work something out (if they will send them out to me for mine-- but it may be you need several parts of the same piece).

My dealings with Tristar are very disappointing so I am not surprised by this.

I could pony up a serial number for a T100 as well, if it would help. Shoot me a PM if you need it.

Not surprising since Tristar is just a dimestore operation importing these from Turkey. Go straight to Canik and bypass the middleman, you'll probably get every part you need that way.

Not a Tristar, but got a Stingray that you can use.  You can hold on to it, as long as needed.

Maybe I missed something, but what is wrong with giving them the serial number? Or are you wanting parts for a different/ non trisatr?

He is wanting some parts to use as templates to develop new products and expand the custom parts market for the TriStar/Canik pistols.

He might not own a Tristar/Canik pistol, and just wanted the parts.  Pretty much what Mike R said.

Have a Canik 55 I can send ya.

Appears some are not familiar with Davids work - one of the best CZ gunsmiths around for any upgrades etc and trying to do the same for CZ clones.
