After work today (Wednesday), went to the pistol range to get a little more trigger time with the new P-09.  Shot at 14 yards at 1.9" tape squares using two different 115 gr 9mm rounds.  Note--Video and targets say 17 yards, but target distance averaged 14 yards, not 17.

See video below.  I like the results, obviously, but a polymer gun is going to take some getting used to.  I'm off to a good start.  Maybe another 100 rounds this weekend.  Might try 25 yards on Sunday.

Here is the double speed shortened version...Distance was 14 yards, not 17.

Looks to me like none of your groups is greater than 13 MoA.  Excellent!  Do you shoot your 75 B that well?

Short answer is no, I don't shoot the 75B in 9mm that well.  But the reasons are that I don't shoot it with the 9mm slide much and also the trigger is more like a 1911 trigger.  This gun has a trigger more like the SIGs in single action.  But the bore axis is lower than the SIG and the gun just feels right.  When I get the trigger where I can feel the take up and then take out some of the creep, it will be superb...for me.  Maybe not for everyone, but for someone who learned to shoot pistols on a 3-4 lb creepy trigger in the SIG, not a 2 lb crisp 1911.  There are a lot of 1911 people who won't like this gun, I bet.

What's funny to me is that I can shoot the Kadet with the same 75B frame and 1911-like trigger setup very well.

I am obviously very happy with these results with so few rounds through the gun.  There were no significant fliers, only a few rounds---out of 100--- that were not placed well.  I pride myself in adapting to a new gun quickly, but this was ridiculously easy.  Good match of gun characteristics and shooter experience, I think.

Very nice shooting Joe. I said I was going to go yesterday, but decided on today. Took my p09 and p07. That p09 actually was more enjoyable than the 07 although I put 350rds thru the 07 and 150 thru the 09. Mixed ammo. Mbi 124gr, ppu 115gr, 100 rds each of wolf and tulla. I had all my 75 b magz loaded and my 07 and 09 magz. 76 rds alone with 4 09 magz. That's why the rest all went towards the 07 for a total of 250. Then a couple guys came by that wanted to zero their rifles, so I took a break on the truck tailgate and reloaded all the magz. Hence 500 total. All in all a wonderful Thursday morning. I did drills and accuracy shooting. None of mine were as tight as yours. I was shooting between 10 and 12yds and only keeping a 6" spread. At 25yds (all these paced off, so not exact) I was able to hold all 19 rds of 1 mag on a 10"plate. Like you, I really like this gun. That trigger thru me off once on a drill though. I thought maybe I had a misfire. Instead I just hadn't let the trigger reset. Did it a couple of times with the p07 also. Not very often I get to shoot 500 rds. Able to police up my brass casings also. Found a bunch of 40 and 45 also. This winter will start reloading. Joe. Did you start your magazines with D/A or S/A? I was just wondering. That threw me off to a couple of times. After 16 or 19 rds of S/A, that double action is looonnggg.

Muggia59--I shot a few rounds all DA, no problem.

I started from SA in the groups not shot all in DA.

I need to take roughly 0.025" off the rear sight to take care of the 2" high hit average.  (Hold was the bottom edge of the 1.9" tape squares.)

You are shooting your stock P-09 better than your tricked-out 75 B?  Think twice before you touch your P-09's action.

I saw your biggest group being the width of your tape, which you say is 1.9 in.  At 14 yd, that's a 13.0 MoA.

To earn the NRA's Basic Pistol Marksman rating, one needs to keep all shots with a 6-in circle at 5 yd, a 114.6-MoA target.  To advance that rating, one shoots at an AP-1 target at 10 yd.  The A ring (10 ring) on the AP-1 has a diameter of 8 in, or 76.4 MoA at 10 yd.

Dude, I want to know what breakfast cereal you eat.

My breakfast is one gram of acetaminophen chased with twelve ounces of Coke Zero, but I can't shoot that well.
