P-09 Hammer spring same as CZ-75
« on: October 17, 2013, 10:27:46 PM »
The stock P-09 hammer spring appears to be identical to CZ-75B spring.  I put a 15# in mine to try this weekend with 9mm box ammo.  Stock spring appears to be a 20.  Double action pull definitely lighter.  I have a 17 to try also if the 15 is too light.

Hurry up, Schmeky!  I need some parts--lighter trigger spring, easy in-out trigger pin, cut down hammer hooks, tuned sear, 2 more magazines.

This is fun.

75 hammer springs work well. We have been playing.

That is good news.
How is the SA break on the stock P09? Similar to P07? Or equivalent to that with a comp hammer?

The SA break will feel mushy to you compared to aftermarket parts in a 75.  I don't have a P-07.  I didn't like the SA trigger on the P-09 when I first handled the gun, but I shot it very well right out of the box, so I am more of a fan now.  It feels to me like it needs a much weaker trigger spring, a little stronger sear spring, and the hammer hooks cut down a little.  It is difficult to detect the end of the take-up as there is very little increase in pull when you start moving the sear.

I haven't had it apart yet so I don't understand the disconnector and trigger bar design at all.  Stock trigger feels strange to me, but I can shoot the gun well.  I don't have anything to compare it to but my SIG's and the Kadet 75B with good parts.

it feels like a P07 to me, fairly smooth in the DA and light, little creepy in SA, but overall not horrible.
I like the straighter trigger, and maybe why it feels better.

I agree with the straighter trigger reference. The takeup before the hammer release could be shorter to, but overall I have no complaints. Love these P series guns. Wish I had some gunsmithing skills but since I don't, I'll live with these minor shortcomings. Did notice that compared to the p09 I had to slam the magz into p07. By the way when doing reloads with the p09 and slamming the mag in, it was going right into battery. It was very controllable, and I like that feature.

I didn't mind the mushy trigger of p07 either. Thanks.

I will update my website today, but the CGW Ultra-Lite S/D already fits the P-07/P-09 with excellent results.  Dramatically lightens the DA and improves the SA with the stock hammer.

SPGK1 also fits.

Joe, check that trigger pin. I think someone has been looking at David's. I saw a picture of it somewhere and it looked like a CGW copy.

Denzien--That's great!!!  And appropriate, since I got a P-09 a couple of months earlier than I expected!

Automatic Accuracy had some 9mm P-09 magazines.  I ordered two tonight.  Life is good.

Was it cheaper than at the online CZ-USA shop? ($43)

$3/magazine cheaper.  But I didn't see any in stock at CZ-USA.  Didn't check today, however.
