The mag release on my 75 Custom Shadow works fine
IF you don't push it too firmly.
If you do push firmly, the mag drops slightly and then is stopped by the mag release itself hitting the mag body. When the pressure is taken off the mag release the mag doesn't drop free. This happens about 25+% of the time, usually in the middle of a match!! The mag then needs to be "pulled" out
A couple of months ago, I asked about a fix for this and bending the end of mag release spring 90 degrees was suggested to limit the amount of travel inward.
Instead of the above suggestion, is there enough metal to to allow sanding off a few thousandths where the round release is machined to be flat. If I extend that curved area back a few thousandths (by trial and error) that should allow pressing in the mag release just a little more without contacting the magazine and preventing it it from dropping free..
Would this be a permanent fix, independent of the spring?
I hope this makes sense enough to understand my question/idea.
My 75B
didn't have any issues with the mag release, but the release is not same on the75 Shadow
