CGW Disconnector Install
« on: November 02, 2013, 04:06:22 PM »
For those that have done this upgrade already - anything in particular to watch out for?  I have an SP-01 that has Schmecky's excellent Defensive Carry package and would like to eliminate the take up in SA mode.  Thanks in advance.

It didn't seem very difficult to me.  I added it to my 75BD and even the "dreaded" decocker wasn't too bad.  A video and Schmeky will also send you a link to a step by step.  Should be no problem.

Thanks Alfonse.  Guess I will order the parts and wade in ... Been around firearms a while and mechanically minded but relatively new to hand guns - now live in the US but originate from one of those countries where they are nigh on impossible to own :)

With a FPB, you won't eliminate takeup but you will reduce it.  I have done 3 of them, one on a shadow and two on FBP equipped pieces.  With the right tools and patience it's not a hard mod.  The shadow install was truly drop in.  I had to do some fitting on two others.  Be ready to assemble and disassemble the piece a few times until you get it just right.

I have done three defensive carry packages. Each gun has itsn own characteristics.  Best thing I have ever did! The trigger pulls will vary slightly.
