Bought a slightly used Taurus PT709 Slim, in deference to the new and unavailable Reminton R1.  It shoots very well for what it is and I like it.

Well, I won an auction for one of the aluminum frame Compacts last evening.  I think these are Israeli surplus.  I had been really eyeballing the GP-100s lately.  I have also been folliwing a couple of older P07s on GB.  I'd like to have one of the new models but if you can get a sweet deal on an older one why not?  I have had a couple of them over the last few years and liked them okay.  Now with upgrades available they should be even better.  But now that is on hold while I get this compact up to speed.  I finally got my pre-B mods completed and am now having extractor issues.  So there goes a few more bucks.  So, my gun list...
CZ P07
Ruger GP-100
and I still want a couple 82s or 83s.  Not sure why, just want them.  8)

an alum framed Cz 75 compact?  or a P-01?  I love my compact, but it does have some heft to it.. You aren't the only one wanting a couple 82's and 83's.... lol

Yes an aluminum frame 75 compact.  Not a P01 or PCR.  I didn't know they made them until recently.  I guess it was a one time contract with the Israelis.  Anyway, they are starting to show up here as surplus guns.  I have seen seven of them sell on GB lately.  I finally snagged one.

next 2 are going to be Tristars, a T120 and a P120. Gotta have some new toys to play with and modify. I've finished my last 1911 project, so it's time to mess around with CZ style pistols again.  ;)

I'm not buying anything else.  I have bought three handguns in the last few months--a new Ruger 22/45, and two P-09s.  And a rail for the GP100.  And ammo.  And parts to fix up the P-09s.  And targets.  And red dot sights for two guns and I need one more.

Every time I get the itch for another hand gun, I need to step back from the short guns and go shoot the AR-15 and the .308 Savage at 300 yards and get my head screwed back on straight.  Or shoot the pistols at 100 yards.  Maybe try 200?  Nope.  Then I'd want something with a barrel longer than 5" and I'd go buy another pistol.

I don't shoot what I have well enough yet to need another one.  When we get the P-09s rung out, maybe something else.  Until then, I sure am enjoying what I have!

Joe, as forum brethren, I should probably warn you that T/C Contenders and Encore pistols are even more addicting than CZ's!  Especially when you consider that for just a few hundred bucks you can have a completely different cartridge in a completely different configuration.  Almost anything you want from .17 rimfire to 500 S&W on the same frame.  THEN you start getting to where you don't want standard cartridges anymore and only are interested in Wildcats.

Best to stay shooting what you are, my friend.

Same feeling here Joe. I want to get better with what I have. Warning you now. Don't touch a SAR K2 45. Not the same trigger as the P09 out of the box. Maybe better. Maybe not. Different in its own way, and no creep. Im not changing anything on it. Just got back from the range and the P09, the SAR and the Rami were both flawless. Again, I need to learn how to shoot them better. You Joe on the other hand, are the one I aim to be half as accurate as.
