I'm thinking about a commander size all steel 1911 in 45.  Springfield has an RO coming out soon that should fit the bill; I've got a parkerized loaded that I've worked over and its wonderful.  But, does anyone have any experience with the ruger 1911 cmdr?  It might fit the bill.

I would suggest considering a Remington R1 also. My stepdad has one and it is quite nice...

In my experience the P07 was a totally different feel from the Glock/M&P.

Good to know! :)

I'll take a look at them.  I have to confess however I'm not all that impressed with Remington's QC of late.  Are they series 70 configuration?  Forged frame?  ( I know the ruger is not).

I'd really like to get a Dan Wesson V Bob.  I almost had a trade for one lined up but the guy changes his mind at the last minute.

As I understand the frame is cast and it is a series 80 configuration...

I have one and it's fullsize brother.  I cannot think of a reason why I would not trust this pistol as it has performed very well every time I've had it to the range.  I have been known to carry this one and the fullsize SR1911, too.

I have the full size SR1911 and love it. I've shot the CMD version a few times and that is definitely on my "Must buy one of these" list. Some of the online dealers have offered really good prices.

Something to note - the SR1911 is a Series 70 configuration.

My next one wound up being something I did not plan on.
A beautiful Dan Wesson 15-2 w8
357 magnum with an 8" barrel.

really like it and the nice part is, it is a sibling to my CZ's, sort of.

My last purchase was the "new" CZ P07. I am having a good time getting to know her and have no complaints. At about 90 yards I was getting very close to a soda can with Winchester Ranger 124 gr. ammo, but didn't hit it until I used a buddy's scoped 17 HR rifle. The next purchase on my mind is a S&W Shield 9mm. The Shield (and the P07) knocked the S&W M&P 9c off the top spot after I had a chance to fire one last Wednesday. Besides, the Shield is easier to carry on these hot summer, shorts and a tee  wearing days.  ;)

CZ 52

That would be a nice gun.  I would like to get a 7.62 x 25 one day.

You may want to also check out the Springfield XDs ... I have been extremely pleased with how comfortable to shoot and accurate mine is for such a small pistol.
