Picked up the Dan Wesson pointman nine yesterday.  spent about two hours cleaning and getting to know her.  When they say tight tolerances, they mean it! I applied Miltec 1 with heat and the Miltec lube in the rails.  Had a tough time getting the slide stop back in.  I never field stripped a 1911 style gun with barrel bushing so it was something new to learn or had a gun with barrel lug I think they call it.  I hope to go shoot her tomorrow.  They recommend you clean and relub every 50 rounds for the first 500 rounds. The manual also said to expect jams and such during the break in period.  We will have to see.

Good luck with it, I hope everything works out.
I would like a Dan Wesson, but a revolver.

Thanks.
Fireman jones, I will take comparison photos tomorrow and post pics of the 75BD, TS and the DW.  I am real interested in comparing the three.

Just got back from the range.  Comparing the three guns I mentioned before, here are my thoughts.  I was equally good/bad on all three.  I would say the 75BD was probably the most recoil.  The tactical sports had the lightest trigger which was good and bad as you have to real careful or I would have double taps unintentionally.  The new gun is the Dan Wesson Pointman Nine.  I had multiple jams, though they warn you that is very normal during breakin.  You can tell the slide drags and the jams were normally the first one out of the mag.  The black on black site on the TS is hard for me to target on  a black silhouette.   I really prefer the singles stack on the DW.  The grip on the TS is a handful.  The overall feel of a gun in your hand goes to the CZ 75.  The main thing I did not care for on the DW was the any times the case was ejected into my face and shirt.  Why does that happen? The trigger on the DW was very crisp.

Yeah, the 715 looks sweet!  If you get one , let me know.  I really like revolvers.  My first one was a used Ruger Security Six.

I hope to acquire an SP01 Tactical in 40SW next year.  I plan on fully smoothing and customizing it to match my 9mm version.  We'll see how the finances work out when the time comes.

Cheers,
Toby

Well, this is CZ that followed me home on Saturday. Went to the range last night and it found the bull's eye at 10 yards (actually, about the size of my fist) for the first clip  ( I mean MAGAZINE).
That makes 3 CZs for me.
P-07
75B in Brushed Stainless
and
the 97B above.

Any recommendations on a holster for the 97B?
Why Yes, I intend to carry it  ..... sometimes!

(Yahoo ....finally figured out how to post a photo!)

Very nice hrdguera,

Are those aluminum grips?

Very nice hrdguera,

Are those aluminum grips?

Yes, very thin aluminum. They make the pistol feel very 1911 / 75B. I was surprised at how a double-stack feels so tight and narrow in my hand compared to my other favorite 45, the Sig P227.

Anyone ever have any trouble with the threads in the barrel bushing? I want to put a light coat of something on them to protect the threads from heat and debris. Any suggestions?
