The weight makes the Compact by far the better shooter.  Some people don't like to carry the extra weight.  I say get a good belt and holster and carry what you shoot best.  IMO, the P01 shoots better than the PCR, also by a wide margin.  I think it may be because of the slight additional nose weight.  I know it is probably insignificant but it sure seems to make a difference to me.

I'm sure that I won't be!  I sold my Glock 17 this afternoon and that freed up enough funds to get the P-01.  Can't wait for it to get here!

I hit my local gun shops this morning looking for a Beretta PX4 Compact before the rebate expires. One shop had one for $596, I passed as MSRP is $575. Bass Pro had one for $550.

I got home and decided to check online. Bud's had the make an offer open on the Compact so I bid $450 and they accepted it. I hate it when that happens. I pulled up another screen and bid $400 and they took that also. I couldn't get under $400, so I took that with a $75 rebate. I figured $325 is not bad.

Either a SAR K2-45 or a CZ97. Leaning towards the 97.

I have a first generation 97B, it is a great range gun but I would not want to carry it all day! When I am not carrying my CZ P-07 I carry a P-83 in 9x18 Mak. What I want to carry instead of the P-83 would be one of these: CZ P-01, Kahr CW 9, S&W Shield or one  of the Airweight S&W snubbies/3" bbl revolver in.357/.38 Spl +P. Something thinner than the P-07 would be ideal. I know a snubbie is not thinner but it would be lighter!  ;)

Another choice for me to consider... a Walther CCP. Here's a video comparison of the CCP vs a Canik TP9.

I so love my Canik 55 TP9! You can read my review of it here: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=58306.0

While I like the stock TP-9 Grip, the Pachmayr Grip Glove enhances it a bit.

That's a steal, congrats! Are you going to keep it configured as an F, or convert it to a G?

I'm thinking about going to the G, not sure now. I'll get my hands on it and then decide.

I wish Beretta would make the compact (and subcompact) in DAO like they do the full size (picked up a police trade in Type D a couple weeks ago). In lieu of that, I prefer Type G, as my first ever pistol was an M9 and I am not a fan of the combination safety/decocker.

Are you considering swapping out your mainspring for a D style?

I'll have to get in in hand and see how it feels. I have D springs in my M9 and 92s, but I'm not seeing much online about a need to do anything to the PX4 series.

I think I need another pre-B.  They keep getting away from me.

Oreocat, good deal. Please let me know what you find out.

Birds Away, you're going to have to set a trap so that it can't get away from you hahaha.

Set you up a cardboard box with a stick attached to a string, put a couple boxes of ammo in there and when that pre-B comes sniffing around you got it!
