You will be highly impressed with a Rami ;D

Even more so with a Cajunized RAMI.

Absolutely

I agree completely!

I got some trigger time on a Rami and a shield side by side today. I would like to acknowledged that besides the fact that these two pistols are both sub compact 9's, the similarities end there. They are in a different class, not an apple to apple comparison. The shield is far more concealable/EDCable, lighter, thinner, I could pack it around IWB on a daily basis and not even know it was there. I like it a lot for that purpose. As I suspected, the Rami is a well made, accurate, reliable firearm that feels great in the hand, has higher capacity, and is a pleasure to shoot, It's a really solid little gun. I loooove it. The price difference is substantial 200+ which could be a factor. Of course I have a holster mold for the shield and not the Rami, that is a big plus in favor of the Rami. Decisions, decisions.... I'd have to sell a gun to do it (I have several that never see the light of day), but I may end up with both... Shhh don't tell the wifey. :)

RFG,
if you shot a stock RAMI you would not believe just how good it is with some trigger work.
My RAMI (actually the wife's since she took it from me) has the smoothest double action trigger I have EVER tested on a gun, no creep or increase in pressure just a smooth 6.5lb. pull. It has had full polished action, springs, and a shadow hammer, that's it internally. Single action is as crisp as any customized cz.  Just an FYI to tempt you more.

I bet. I have an sp-01 that I want to have a trigger job done on. Or do it myself. I've done a few 1911's and glock trigger mods, but the CZ internals look a bit more challenging for a novice to mess with. I already liked the trigger on the rami, it has over a thousands rounds threw it and may have been worked, the guy who owns it never leaves anything factory for long. I should have asked him. I'll find out. There was no comparison between the trigger on the shield and the RAMI. I'll have another CZ in short order either a p01 or RAMI. I'm glad I found this site it has renewed my passion for the Brand.

The safety models are much easier than they look. If you have already dug into a 1911, ill bet with a little research you would be fine taking apart a CZ safety model. There is good support here on the forums as well.
Will work for CZ pics! (including but not limited to all CZ clones)

For sure 1911's aren't exactly simple. I'm always ready to at least give it a try. My understanding is that the safety modles yield a better trigger anyway. Is that a correct assumption. My sp01 is a safety modle.

The safety model should technically have a better trigger, but most people can't even tell a difference. With even a tiny bit of custom work there is no noticeable difference. David from CGW has many posts regarding this belief.

Agreed. I have yet to hear anyone state clearly why a decocker mechanically cannot achieve a trigger as good as a safety model. I am not saying there is no reason, just that i have asked the question many times and have yet to receive a clear answer on the matter. It seams to me that the decockers are just more cumbersome and time consuming to work on. So it may not be a matter of "cant" but rather "less likely to" due to the added complexities in the CZ decocker design. In my experience a CZ may have to be torn down more than a few times to get things prefect. At this point i can strip a safety model in a few minutes, a decocker on the other hand would take me significantly longer. To add to that the decockers have a few quirks that one can muck up on reassembly that safety models do not have. So in the end, decockers are just less friendly for DIY gunsmiths. With enough experiences i am sure the gap between the two could be narrowed but i do not believe the decocker will ever be quite as friendly as a safety model.

RFG,
another great thing about the safety model CZ's is the internals are exactly the same whether RAMI, CZ75, or CZ97 they are all the same so once you learn one you have learned to work on all of them.
Okay there are some exceptions, OMEGA and the SA come to mind but you get the idea.

That interchangeability is great. I had to remind my wife today that the 18 rnd. SP01 magazine fits right into her RAMI. She snapped it in and shot it empty without a hiccup.

I couldn't notice a difference in the stock triggers of my Rami Bd, Phantom or 75 B. Of course now the Rami BD and Phantom have been tweaked, so big difference between them and the 75 now[emoji6]. Still deciding what to do with the 75B.
The Rami was the first firearm I ever tore apart. The Phantom was a whole different beast the first time. Heck, with the way everyone talks about how easy the safety models are to tear down, the 75 should be a cake walk. [emoji2][emoji2][emoji2]

picked it up.  and, in LUV!   way fun to shoot.. I didn't know it but it had some upgrades I didn't notice at purchase.. like new stainless bushing, Wilson steel mainframe with integral magwell, extra magazines, has original grips and Hogue overmolded finger groove grips.. etc.

shoots awesome.. I did put thin grips on it.. WOW,  really feels good and shoots to POA more instinctively.. and I had no idea of 'soft' the recoil of a .45 is in a full size steel gun.. makes me want... more! in different calibers.

cheers

Very nice, Tok! Is that bead blasted stainless, or a coated finish?
