I have always wanted a Sphinx competition series pistol. They used to have some longer slide versions. Thanks for sharing. These are some very finely and precisely made handguns.

It's too cold outside to do anything productive so I wasted a few minutes searching for Sphinx 3000 info.
The now defunct Sabre Defence Industries formerly of Nashville, Tennessee had a nice color brochure of the Sphinx model they imported.

Mine is the Standard w/Decocker.

I "likey" very much also.
It's a shame their business ran afoul of the law and was terminated.
It doesn't appear that Sphinx-USA (Kriss-USA) will be importing a very diverse product line.

I still don't get how the decocker could be acting as intended. Pulling the trigger defeats the purpose of decocker- being able to lower the hammer while keeping the firing pin safety engaged.

Silly question: Are you sure you're pulling the decocker through its entire sweep? From what I've read, decocking on those neither the long smooth of something like a Sig, nor the short, stiff click of an H&K. It seems to be multi-stage and there's probably extra resistance before the actual hammer drop.

henehcuhp;
It was not a silly question at all.

In fact your comments on various decockers and speculation that there might be "extra resistance before the actual hammer drop" provoked me to push even harder than I had before.

Viola, it dropped and stopped short of the firing pin just like it was supposed to do if someone did what they were supposed to.  :-[  :-[  :-[

It does indeed require more pressure than any other pistol I have ever owned or handled to decock it but now that you brought to my attention the necessity to really exert pressure on it I'm aware that it works properly.

Thanks for motivating me to push harder.

I greatly appreciate your input.

Beautiful sphinx 8) thanks for sharing.  As for saber defence it's a shame they went outa business cause they make top quality ar15s. Purchased a complete custom competition deluxe stainless upper from midway USA years ago.

He's actually doing a meet and greet at buds this Saturday, I'm gonna try to make it and see if I can meet him and get a pic or something. He's the kind of guy that u could probably talk to for hours.

Hickok45 seems to have found his perfect niche in making Youtube gun videos.  I like his very competent, but humble approach to educating and entertaining us.  Great guy.
