It was not a silly question at all.
In fact your comments on various decockers and speculation that there might be "extra resistance before the actual hammer drop" provoked me to push even harder than I had before.
Viola, it dropped and stopped short of the firing pin just like it was supposed to do
if someone did what they were supposed to.

It does indeed require more pressure than any other pistol I have ever owned or handled to decock it but now that you brought to my attention the necessity to really exert pressure on it I'm aware that it works properly.
Thanks for motivating me to push harder.
