CZ 83 price
« on: March 26, 2014, 09:03:20 PM »
Hey all, I was just wondering what a good price was for a 83 in good to very good condition is? I have been looking on gun broker for about 8 months and I see them going for somewhere between 200-300. I think 300 is a bit high? I am planning on buying an 83 in 380 at a gun show and I wanted to double check my price findings? So what do you see these guns going for? What did you pay? Is 200-250 a fair price?

Thanks,

Hawkeye

I just paid $204 shipped for a beat up 83 .380. I think $300 is fair if we're talking 95%

It's pretty much by definition that if that's what they're going for then that's what they're worth.

I thought that this was a pretty good deal:

Of course, shipping and transfer fee make it less of a good deal  :o

The CZ 83 cost over $400 brand new. They are no longer produced (2012 was the last year), which tends to make them more valuable now. As with any handgun, age and condition are a big part of the value.

Another consideration is the number of magazines.  Since they are now selling for a premium, any deal with two or more magazines at a reasonable price is worth considering.

This is where I ordered my CZ 83 from.  I called them and took care of the whole purchase over the phone.  They shipped it quickly to my FFL and I am pleased with the pistol.

Their price is $211.99 and it is a nice pistol, accurate and reliable.  They still have 20 in inventory.

One advantage of going with a CZ 83 in .380 is that it is a CZ 83, not a misidentified/misrepresented CZ 82.  Seen a lot of the latter over the years.

I sold my CZ 83 in 9x18mm for $350 about nine years ago (four magazines).  I also had the "selling point" of only firing S&B brass-cased ammo in the pistol.  I would think that anything at $300 or under is a good price if the pistol is in reasonable condition.  Back then, there weren't mil surp CZ 82s clouding the issue, IIRC.  The commercial 9x18mm pistols commanded a premium, because they were harder to find.

That is an excellent price for a nice CZ83 pistol, but how much did they add to that cost for shipping and handling?  I could not find any S/H info on their site without going through the entire checkout / billing process.

What kind of condition is it in? Can you post some photos? That's a really tempting price.

Just purchased one of the surplus CZ 83's from iAmmo.com.  Yes they are $211.99.  Yes, they stick it to you on shipping and handling.  Total of my purchase was $254.32.  Hoping that these are good surplus.  Supposedly the 'Best of the Best'.

Was hoping the CZ community could answer the question of a newbe.  If the CZ 83 is a civilian model how do they have military/law enforcement surplus?  Maybe I don't fully understand the history.  Thanks for your help.  I am really looking forward to adding this .380 acp to my small collection.

Okay, so they aren't surplus, they are 'Pre-owned'.  Not sure what the difference is.  They only come with one magazine.  Even though, maybe, I should have asked more questions before my purchase it seemed like the right thing to do.  I wanted to join the CZ family and my firearms budget is limited.  I don't carry and will use this at the range and for, possible, home defense.

Thanks for any replies coming my way.

The surplus models have the rounded off trigger guard (Like the CZ-82).

The Commercial models have the squared off trigger guard.

Thank you Gottmituns for the quick and informative reply.  In the pictures that are supplied by iAmmo.com they show both trigger guard formations so I'm not sure what will come my way.  I'm excited to have my first CZ regardless.  I don't prefer one over the other, just want a functioning CZ that I have read so much about.  Thanks again my friend.
