I was told no to the mepros on the rear since the dovetail is not the right size, but you could easily retro a mepro front sight on.

Thanks Genin.  That kind of rules them out for me.  A compact gun is a carry gun to me and I like night sights on carry guns.

I completely understand. I am hopeful that in the future there are tritium options for this gun in the future. If you ever were so inclined you could have Novak sights milled in the rear. That is pricey though.

Thanks, I didn't know that.  I have two CZ Compacts and a RAMI that have night sights.  What I envisioned the Stingray for was, mostly, sitting in the car.  I cannot carry at work so I leave it in the car all day.  The likelihood of my car being broken into at work is about zero.  But I still worry about my high dollar, fully modified, CZ sitting out in the car.  The Canik would ease that somewhat.  I guess I don't really need it.  It would be very nice to have and give me another option.

Was seriously considering a Stingray until I read about all of the sight problems.

I have two Tristars that both shot perfectly fine out of the box. I am not alone in this experience.

Contrast that with the people who don't just say that the sights are off...apparently they're useless. 'It shoots two feet low and two feet left!' Eh...no. I think YOU shoot two feet low and two feet left. Just because someone can consistently replicate their poor aim and/or trigger pull, does not automatically make it the gun's fault.

I would not be that concerned about it.

I do read many things on the internet with a healthy degree of skepticism.

I'm the same as you. I find that my hard chromed Stingray-C is about the perfect "left in the car" gun. All steel construction, hard chromed, and VZ grips make it nearly impervious to any type of temperature/humidity effects I'd ever see in a car. I know people keep polymer guns in cars all the time, but I can't help it, I just feel so much more secure with it being all steel. I think you'd find the stingray would excel in this niche for you as well.

I hear you. I have a stingray-c and a t-100 and both have no sight issues.

Thanks for the photos Genin.  I really like my Stingray-Cs for their function but have not yet found appropriate aftermarket mags.  I have always shied away from the 14 rounders you show as they look to be painful to shoot.  With that metal base plate extending forward from the grip - Where the heck do you put your little finger?  A pinkie under grip would work but does not feel right on this pistol.  On the full size CZ with that base plate the little finger just barely fits above it.  Have you seen any source for the Canik 15 rounders?  Mec-Gar 16 rounder with rubber base looks like it would be a bit bulkier in the Stingray-C but I have not yet tried it.
Thanks!

You can get the Mecgar 15 rounders from Greg Cote LLC. They will be almost identical to the Canik 15 rounders since MecGar makes them for Canik.
