In the bore, there is a small gap from where the chamber ends and the rifling begins. That slight gap is free bore. I was worried and after asking other owners and discussing the matter with Century Arms it was determined that they are just made with some "free bore". Mine shoots great and is mechanically accurate so no worries. Just thought I'd give you a heads up since I was concerned when I looked at the bore.

FYI, I am also an avid Glock guy and still use my G19 for EVERYTHING! Love that freaking gun.

I've always wanted a CZ and now clones are around I'd like to add one to the safe. CZs always looked sexy, but it know absolutely nothing and it's a lot to digest.

Here is want I'm looking for:
-Full size or a "larger" compact with 4"+ barrel
- ability to change sights, prefer NS
- Light rail
- Ability to go SA or cocked and locked 1911 style
- Two tone or Blued finish
- Some parts compatibility with CZ
- Ease of finding mags
-Some CS or warranty
- on a lessor note, would be good if pistol was sold by Academy or somewhere I could check it out

This will probably be my only CZ, so I don't want to have any regrets on not getting everything. If you could point me to some makes and models, that would be great.

Although it misses some of your requirements, I can say my next clone (actually probably my only clone) is going to be the SAR K2 .45.  A lot of the clones are within $100 of a real deal CZ, so for me all my 9mm's will be CZ.

I agree... I've owned a C-100 and liked it (it is my oldest daughter's pistol now) but I got lucky with it in that CGW offered upgrades and I was able to switch to sights I liked (plain rear, fiber front) ... but I have discovered since that this is not the case with all Canik models.

I've chosen to stick to CZs where I can for the upgrade options and better resell value (although I have no intentions in that regard!)

jj,
The Canik guns are good.
I have owned the Stingray and do own a C-100.
Other than the stock sights the guns work very good.
Another option if you are willing to give up the light rail is the S120's in steel and the L120's in an alloy frame, they have that CZ75B line enough that they will fool you until you look at the import stamps.
The L120's are so light that they did not feel right to me, but my C100 is preferred for my carry gun just for that reason and the balance is better than the L120.
They shoot just like a real CZ

Parts are little different on the Caniks from CZ even if they did follow the pattern they changed some dimensions.
However CGW makes parts and CZ Custom can modify the guns and sell completely modified Caniks.

All that said, for a little more money you can get the original and you don't have to explain to people that it is a clone of a gun that they had not heard of in the first place. LOL

The K2 is sharp, but a bit out of my price range. For $320, a Stingray clone sounds viable. For $480, I think I would rather go another route. Maybe once I have some rounds down the pipe.

Yeah I was lucky.  OIF 1-1.5.  I was with 1/35AR, 2/1AD.  They kicked me out of a palace after the first 12 months and put me on a FOB securing MSR 1 for the next 5 months.

Truly a great Pistol to start with!  :)

Stingrays are solid little pistols.  I was looking for a CZ that fit my desired configuration but they didn't make a steel compact with a light rail, etc.  The Stingray was perfect plus I was able to obtain a couple of the earlier production models in hard chrome instead of chrome colored coating.  It doesn't meet your 4" barrel requirement though.

Get both a CZ P-07 and a Grand Power P1 Mk7 (though it's not a clone except for looks). Out the door with shipping & transfer fee for both of these together ran me $853. Not too terribly bad for a pair of outstanding pistols!

I really like the feel of it.  I can't believe they could almost mimic a CZ 75 grip with a flush fitting 14+1 of .45acp.
