Thanks for the tip. I watched a 3 part video on YouTube the other day that went through disassembly, polishing, parts install, and reassembly. It was for the safety version, but it gave me a pretty good idea of what's involved. I'm gonna order parts on Monday, I think. I'll take plenty of pictures, possibly some video, of the process and post them up after I'm finished.

I'm pretty sure I watched those same videos. Really helped me out a bunch on 4 different occasions!

Bumping my thread for another question. Is the extended mag release legal for USPSA production since it comes on the Shadows as a CZ Factory part?

I believe so.  I know its legal to put the extended mag catch or extended slide stop from a Gen 3 Glock 34 on a Glock 17 since the parts are available as OEM on another model, so see this as being similar.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Same concept as the Competition hammer from CZC.

Here's the actual verbiage from App D4 line 21.6:

Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, pins, extractors and ejectors MAY be replaced with OFM or aftermarket parts.

Any other components which are externally visible may ONLY be replaced with OFM parts which are offered on the specific model of gun or another approved gun from the same manufacturer except as specifically clarified below. Examples of external components which may only be replaced with OFM parts include (but are not limited to): magazine releases, slide stops, thumb safeties and triggers.
